Portrays the tragedy in the Cambodian history quite accurately. Various torture chambers and prison cells have bloodstains and nail marks of the former victims and pictures that display the horrific nature of the event. Worth a visit to understand an important part of the history of the Khmer Rouge.

The Tuol Sleng or the coded S21 museum is the dark highlight of Phnom Penh. It does a flawless job of evoking emotions portraying the darkest part of Cambodian history with near perfection. The photos and specimen have English titles but the audio tour can be useful at an additional 3$. There are movies screened about the genocides of Khmer Rouge frequently at set times. A must visit place in Phnom Penh.

This museum completely brings out the truth of what Cambodia has been through. If you are weak hearted this is not a place for you to visit... as there are aspects which would give chills to your spine.
If going there the best thing is to take the audio tour. It is one of the best tours I have come across.

Worth a visit. You'll begin to understand why Cambodia is in this state. A bit gory and can be stomach churning. You have been warned. A little more sanitized now. With audio guides, it is quite easy to navigate. Be prepared for at least two hours.

As you'd expect this is pretty harrowing. I recommend buying the audio cassette tour which was not too expensive, about five dollars I think but well worth it. Follow the tour around the numbered tour items and rooms. A few people we saw there had tour guides, if this is more your thing then they seemed very informative too (I followed one group for a bit). Worth going to be prepared to be affected by the site and information.
