Went there in winter. It was magical to be able to swim in hot water with snow falling... You should go there if you visit Iceland. You'll spend approximatively 1/2 day.

THIS IS NOT THE REAL BLUE LAGOON!! Pictures and reviews of this spa are misleading. The real blue lagoon is about 50km from Reykjavik, near the airport. This misconception cost me a very pretty penny on cab journeys.

You should clean up your reviews and pictures pages to avoid more disappointed travellers.

Ok so it's expensive, but you can't go to Iceland without going to the Blue lagoon for a bath. It is NOT close to Reykjavik (an hour away) so keep that in mind. It is much closer to the airport than to many other places in Iceland. You can rent or buy anything that you could possibly need there, so even if you forgot your bathing suit you can probably get one there. Allow a few hours. It does have a refreshment bar as well.

Great relaxing atmosphere, and worth the visit, but very busy. Book a long time in advance. Be aware that this not actually a naturally occurring hot spring, though. For the real deal, try Jarobodin in the north of the country. Half the price there, as well.

Surreal experience! Blue, blue, bath-water warm (43°c) lake, with sleet in the air just hitting your cheek..... simply, surreal feeling but worth every penny. The 'other half' enjoyed the face mask experience too; so much so, that she had a 2nd mask later in our 'wallowing session'
