Great museum albeit small. Mainly arqueologic stuff. Rocks and small things. Buy the ticket and you have free entrance in the Viking ship museum.

A fleeting visit, of which I saw 2 sides to the museum: the old, with little information and standard presentation. The new, with loads of fun, interestingly presented artefacts. When the refurbishments finish, this museum will offer an invigorating experience. As it is, still visit to experience the new exhibitions they have.

Went with the sole purpose of finding out about the Viking and Norwegian history and was not disappointed. Great exhibition and plenty of explanations. I liked that it is essentially time based. Also saw the Arctic exhibition. But the best thing is that entry to this museum is linked to entry to the Viking Ship museum, and that is fantastic!

I loved the museum. It's full of interesting things and I loved that it's all separated by period or places. There is plenty to see so it's best to go with time to get the most out of every detail.

Frustratingly curated. Objects without dates or attributes. You could walk past the only complete viking helmet ever found without knowing what it was, if you had not done your homework. Odd juxtaposition of contemporary craft art with the historical objects without much explanation. The medieval collection is the exception: intriguing church art well displayed.
