Filipina Yogini (15.06.2017 19:32)
This is my first time to visit any yoga studio in the Philippines and I had a great experience.

I started practicing yoga in 1997 and I've reviewed several yoga studios in the U.S.

When you walk up to the studio, on the 4th floor of the Podium in Ortigas, you see a pleasant glass facade. The 2 benches with shoe shelves are long, plenty of room to sit and take off your footwear and tuck away. There are lockers for storing your things conveniently (bring your own padlock).

The yoga classroom has a cushioned mat flooring. It smells clean. It's well lit. Mats are laid out already so that the maximum number of students that can fit will always be set up. Payment for classes include mat, and two towels---one for mat and one for showering.

The instructors I have tried so far during the 6:45 am classes were really good. Their instruction was good, physical adjustments, prompts for self-adjustment, flow was excellent. The voice tonality and projection was excellent. The teachers came across as compassionate and caring.

There is one bathroom and it is clean and new. There are 3 shower rooms, each has it's own door. This place is still new and the high-end wide tiles are clean and well done. The shower heads yield strong, pleasant rainfall style water flow, and the water is heated. They provide body wash and shampoo. And don't forget they also provide bath towel. There is a changing room with a mirror and blow dryer.

I noticed that the people so far are respectful and very much into their own space. I've also notice people go into the shower rooms to change or rinse before they go into class. They had to commute or walk to the studio somehow and they are considerate enough for their own hygiene and others' sense of smell to wash before class. Many of the people in the early morning class are already deep into their practice, very flexible and also into the quiet and meditative state of the asanas and svasana. I really appreciate this from fellow yogis in class. It adds to the contemplative asana practice and generates a great energy in class.

The place is small but well planned, thoughtfully laid out, almost japanese like. I highly recommend this place.

I was surprised to see that the per class rates are pricy---much the same as U.S. rates, BUT i found the discounted rate for day-time, weekday classes to be a totally awesome rate. PHP 900 for 1 week of unlimited classes, on weekdays, before 6PM. Or PHP 3999 for 1 month of unlimited classes, on weekdays, before 6PM. Wow!

Highly recommend this one so far.
