Very moving 10 minute movie to start, and we'll restored fort and exhibits. Even without the historic site this is an awesome green space with paved paths, right on the mouth of the harbor. Entrance fees only apply to visit the fort proper.

I love this place. This is one of the most peaceful and most respectful places i have been. This is a place to come if you want to respect our past and the present freedom. This place represents what we call America. The National Park Service does a great job taking care and maintaining the park. it has paths that go all around and through it and the path borders the Chesapeake Bay at which you can view the Francis Scott Key Bridge, whom comes to mind every time i think of Fort McHenry as a Baltimore native. This is a great place to bring your children to show them what we as Americans fought for over 200 years ago.

This has been my favorite fort since I was a kid. So much history delivered in a way that you actually remember it. It is also very uniquely designed making it iconic in fort construction. The battle that took place her was the inspiration for Francis Scott Key's Lyrics to the Star Spangled Banner.

As a history buff this is one of the most important places that is often overlooked. It's the place where the inspiration for the Star Spangled Banner happened. A place that was literally defended with a giant flag. Most of the place is free to access. The paid area is interesting but if you don't want to spend the money you aren't missing too much. I'm sure the fees go straight to maintainting the place and I think it's cool to get access for a small donation.

Fort McHenry is an awesome experience for all the family. In the main building, where you get the tickets, they had a film that they showed every thirty minutes. It was very well done and very touching. It told the important role of Fort McHenry in America's history. At the fort, the wind struck up now and then, rather consistently, which was wonderful, especially when the sun shone intensely. I loved that people were actually dressed in the time period and gave you the feeling of army life. Every once and a while, soldiers drilled, a drummer played and a flutist whistled. A group of girls sewed and washed clothes outside of the fort under a tent. Fort McHenry is a must-see attraction.
